Day 89

Mango Yogurt Cheesecake

What? Another food shot? :-)

I met my friend Aggie at my old haunt in Katipunan... ano pa, e di Starbucks. When I arrived (late), she has already eaten -  a sandwich, I believe. So I ordered latte for me and orange juice for her plus a thing called decadent cheesecake and this yogurt cheesecake. At P110/slice, okay na din. I used my cell camera, hence this non-beauty-shot.

Day 88

There was this application on FB --- things you wouldn't leave the house without. E since, my day was just spent at work, I'll just post a pic of the things I wouldn't leave the house without.

The one on the left - spoon, fork and knife - is a recent addition. The others and their like have been with me for years. (the cellphone, of course, changes models)

My favorite of course is my PDA/MP3 player/game console. Thanks Apple!

Day 87

Bacon Shrimp Roll
Ryan, our segment editor said we should try the Kowloon House along Commonwealth Avenue in Fairview because according to him the branch there has a different menu than the one we frequent to in Visayas Avenue. Me said, yeah right but we went anyway, to amuse him. Hahaha. Turned out, he was right.

Buchi

Apple Flavored San Miguel Beer (3% alcohol)

The roll is good but their buchi is a major failure. They didn't have coffee (I was in the coffee stage already, having sneaked a bite from Juicy's dinner of Burger Steak from Fatboy's), so I just ordered this beer. I thought it will taste like Cali Shandy, but no. I liked Tanduay Ice better than this one. So I just had one. Still, I can't complain. Ryan footed the bill e. :-)

Day 86

I remember, Chicken Savory had just one branch. It was in Binondo. And I remember that we had to go over a bridge to get there. They're in malls now - this one is in SM Nova. (where else?) :-) I like this chicken because it's not fried.

Day 85

We had dinner last night in Pho 24 at the Ayala Triangle Gardens to celebrate my  nephew's birthday. It so happened that it was also Earth Hour and we were having dessert at the Banapple when they turned off most of the lights. There was some kind of program at the dome of the Phil. Stock Exchange. Some dancing with torches... (anyare?! and I thought we were supposed to turn off all the lights.)

This is a citronella candle. I like the scent it gives off... mosquitoes don't, apparently. We ordered 6 slices of  5 different cakes. The winner for me is the Banoffe Cream Pie. I surely would come back for more of this Banoffe. Their prices are reasonable, too.

I would have posted some cake shots but bluetooth-ing the pics from the cellphone camera of my sister was half-successful... maybe next time. (Why didn't I take pics? Was busy tasting all the cakes. hehehe)

Day 84

This was lunch - San Marino's Tuna Paella. A quick fix. Not as good as Century's rice meals that they put out in the 90's. I wonder why they discontinued it? Maybe it didn't click with the consumers back then.

But San Marino's Tuna Fillet is good though. :-)

Day 83

I was talking to my niece who is in Virginia and this was her brunch - bologna sandwich. Yummy!

Day 82

Seems like construction in TV5 is forever and a day.  I don't have any idea what these cables are for but I like those wooden things where they are kept. Can be used as a table...?

Day 81

These are semi-precious stones that I bought from my friend Monnette last December. The red stones are rubylite (sex) the green stones are moss agate (money); next to it are dendritic or tree agate (for hypertension); amethyst (for insomnia) and the pink stones, I forgot the name but it is for love. :-) The amethyst I bought in January 2009 from someone in FB.

The stones from Monnette give good vibes. :-) My niece attests to it also. You can contact Monnette at 0928-3017759.

Day 80

This is in front of the lobby of the main (and only building of TV5). What used to look like this in 2009, looks like this now ---

This is where they tape the morning show Sapul. And they did this overnight.

Day 79

When it comes to ice cream, I always buy Selecta or Arce Dairy. This is the first time I bought Nestle. I was surprised it was good. Better than Magnolia... Magnolia ice cream doesn't taste like it used to...

Day 78

Finally was able to see this REP play. But I missed their first play, "Joy Luck Club". It's a good thing that, when you're a gold subscriber, you can still use the unused tickets for the next play. Hence, I got four extra tickets for "The 39 steps". Went with my sister and niece. :-)

Day 77

Went to Shopwise today to buy our monthly/weekly supplies. And of course, I didn't miss eating these Jamaican patties. I love their pinatubo and cheezy pinatubo varieties. Pair these with mango-apple smoothies from Fruitas and I had a super-duper lunch.

Day 76

Is it summer already? These shades are priced reasonably. Though i have yet to try one. Whaddya think?

Day 75

This application for my iTouch, "Waterlogged" reminds me to drink water every 2.5 hours. Cool huh? Sometimes, i really forget to drink. The goal I set for every day is 3000ml (3 liters). Today, I drank this much of water. :-) Kaya naman, I have to bring this bottle every time I go out.

This application I bought from the App Store. Sana meron din app to remind me to stand and walk around the editing bays; or to blink.

Monday, March 14, 2011

Day 74

I got this from Shopwise. I found it kinda cute so... there. It houses my iTouch, the screen cleaning pad, the cord and my 16gb usb disk... and sometimes my Lotto tickets. :-) Also my deepest darkest secrets. Meganon?! haha

Day 73

Bought this in Landmark Makati. Wala lang. I don't have a small AM/FM Radio so when I saw this, twas love at first sight :-) It also purports to receive shortwave signal. I have yet to hear a broadcast. When the Japan earthquakes happened, was glad I bought this. It runs on 2 AA batteries or AC cord. When I brought it to work, they laughed because it has been years since they saw one like this.

Day 72

When I was still studying in Paco, Robinson's Ermita is the nearest mall. But it wasn't fun going here -- their department store looked depressing back then. So "malling" isn't one of the hobbies we listed in our slumbooks. :-) Still, it didn't stop me from filching some of their trinkets the few times we went here.

But looky, looky... quite different eh? I just hate that they don't have enough ATMs. And their toilets are not that nice looking. But their moviehouses are much improved.

Day 70

Been getting my groceries from this Shopwise store in Vito Cruz for 3 years now, I think. And I've been using these green bags of theirs for that long. I like these. They're made from "katsa" unlike those of SM which are made from ... i don't really know what. Haha. Anyway, when I buy from other stores, I don't let them put my purchases in plastics, if I can help it. I almost always carry a large backpack so, it's not a problem. We must help in making our environment better. The smallest gesture helps.

Day 69

Dad texted me last Tuesday and asked me if I can get him another Starbucks mug. He lost the one I gave him for his birthday last year. He washed it in their office loo and inadvertently left it there. This store in 6750 in Ayala doesn't have anything that I liked. Will try another store.

Day 71

I went through Greenbelt 5 to go to SM Makati. For some reason, I got down on Greenbelt 1. Wala lang. :-) Anyway, going through this new mall na pang-mayaman, (hehe) I thought to snap a pic of this store. If I am not mistaken, I got to taste their ice cream twice - once as a treat by friends and the other, as a treat for myself. Wanted to make sure I got the taste right the first time. Haha. Verdict? Yeah, it's delicious. But so is McDo's sundae cone. And it's way cheaper. McDo pa rin. Love ko 'yun. (cheapskate) ;-)

Day 68

SM ba 'to?

I like going around this SM in Novaliches because there aren't too many people. And since my life is TV5  these days, this is my playground most of the time. Kaya naman, when it's my time off from work, ay! Todo naman. :-)

Day 67

Baang Coffee's Scampi. I didn't get to taste this (not hungry). It looked nice so I took a snap. :-)

Day 66

Pati lobby nagiging set na :-)

Day 65

I helped Kalai in assembling her cabinet for her new apartment in Novaliches. And this is the finished product. :-) It took us about 4 hours to assemble the damn thing.

Day 64

I've always wondered why there are several funeral homes on Araneta Ave. in Quezon City. Arlington is the first one if you are coming from SM Sta. Mesa.

Day 63

Lekat! Ang mahal na talagang mag-taxi. This is the meter when I was at SM Sta. Mesa. (I was going to TV5). I came from San Andres - Quirino, Bagong Tulay, Sta.Mesa, then, Araneta, Quezon Ave. straight to Agham, Mindanao Ave., and then Quirino Highway. Whew!

There's another way. A. Bonifacio but the traffic there is
not much better.

Friday, March 4, 2011

Day 62

This was my first and only coffee of the day. I know, I know... another picture of the ubiquitous coffee. :-) But I was busy buying stuff for Kalai's place in Novaliches where I will crash now and then :-)

Anyway, this time, it's SBC. Their coffee tastes better than Starbucks, if you ask me. I ordered their Classic Mocha.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Day 61

these are the reasons why I can't stop eating. hahaha... at Max's in SM Novaliches.

Day 60

I bought this a month ago at Php85. The sales person said it's good for muscle pain. So far, it hasn't lived up to its promise. I am using it now like White Flower because I have a nasty cold. I like the smell though - it's peppermint.
