I've always wondered why they use anthuriums for these wreaths. Am too lazy to look it up. These are from the wake of my batchmate's mother.

She was 75. I'd say that's a full life.

Day 27

Decided to buy a better router so my torrents download faster; and more devices can connect to the net. So far, it's faster than the old one I bought at CD-r King. This is a D-Link wireless router I bought at Villman.

Downloaded it as a torrent file --- have not watched it though. But have converted it for my iTouch... am preparing to be wowed.

Day 25

For some reason, I followed Mo on Twitter. And so when he announced that he started a podcast and that on Friday (Jan 21) his guest will be Lea Salonga, I downloaded his "Good Times with Mo" podcast. They accept callers and most of the questions have something to do with sex.  And seeing our Ms. Lea Salonga join the conversation, gamely answering some of the callers' questions was cool indeed :-)

Then why haven't I finished watching the whole thing? Go figure.

Day 24

What the lobby of TV5 looks like now.  There are no available studio at this time so, the morning show is being shot in this set. Cool huh?

Day 23

One of those times when it was more efficient to check in at a motel than to go home... :-) if you do the math, still cheaper than to go home in a taxi and then drag yourself off your bed very early in the morning...

Day 22

I shot this using the More Lomo app for the iTouch... this is Zorro, my niece's 9 (or 10)-year old dog. he's sleeping most of the time... :-) just stayed home today so.... it rained again today -- in January. La Niña it is. *sigh*

Day 21

When our editing was cancelled today, I planned to go out and go malling, maybe watch a movie. But it rained so I just stayed home and watched my favorite show these days -- Law and Order. It didn't matter that what they were showing on the Universal Channel (21) are old episodes. I still love'em all. Shown in this frame is Sam Waterston. Good thing too that I stayed at home. Because according to MMDA's tweets, some of the major streets in the city were inundated.

Day 20

Last man standing. This Kowloon House is located at the Park Square in Makati. And this has been here as far back as when I was in grade school -- or as far back as when Park Square was constructed. The QUAD theaters were renamed into Glorietta 1 cinemas, and then were torn down after the explosion in Glorietta 2 back in '06. Where the Landmark bus terminal was, a condo is being constructed... seeing this Kowloon House made me want to go back to the time when there were big armadillos statues beside SM Makati. :-) (do you remember that?)

Day 19

North Park at the Araneta Center in Cubao.  Took this pic because I liked how it looked --- nice, simple lines. Uncluttered. Not like some of its other branches... been to the Makati, Trinoma, Alabang branches. This branch's interior struck a chord.

I've seen a few plays of Neil Simon at REP. So when I saw that this was on sale in Powerbooks, I grabbed a copy.

Day 15

They sent me these at our home address --- I mean where I grew up :-) When my brother gave these recently, boy, did I have a flashback of my younger days. To a time when I wanted to be a stage actor. Haha.  Ain't that funny? Anyway, they kept their records so it seems... the last time I subscribed to their season tickets was before bff Cathy was assigned to Vienna...lemme see... about 11 years ago! Cathy is my partner in theater-movie-dining activities. And watching REP plays was one of our favorite things! :-) I saw my first REP play in HS --- "Blithe Spirit". I think I was 13 or 14 at that time. Celia Diaz-Laurel, Freddie Santos and Baby Barredo were the main actors. It was about a restless ghost. After that, I was hooked. Good thing my father supported my interest and bought extra season tickets for me. Back then, they were playing at the Insular Life theater in Paseo de Roxas in Makati. When I started earning, I continued to buy season tickets. By this time, they transferred to the theater at the Shangrila Plaza in EDSA.

When Cathy went to Vienna, I continued going then lost interest because for some reason they did plays that were mostly for children. Duh! After doing Amadeus, Piaf, The Diary of Anne Frank, Dangerous Liaisons, The Man from La Mancha, M Butterfly, etc. etc. I didn't understand why they started doing more musical plays for children. Or maybe I wasn't paying that much attention to their season line-up? (Hmmm... what was I doing during this time in my life...???)

And now they are back in my life. Haha! Or shall I say, back in my mailbox and back in my line of vision...?

Day 14

I was sooo hungry that's why wasn't able to take a pic of the stewed lamb that I ordered for dinner (with friend Carrie) at the Secret Recipe in Shangrila Plaza Mall.  When I came to my senses, it was dessert time. I picked a slice of their tiramisu. hmmmm...nothing special. So is their stewed lamb. I could have done better, if I may say so. Haha!

Day 13

Since MVP took over TV5, renovations like this abound in the workplace.. when will the editing bays be ready? I am soooo pissed with that room near the transmitter that passes for a post-production room... c'mon guys, hurry up!

I got these last August for my birthday. A friend who visited from the US gave me these and it's just now that I took them out of the tin box. Funny, how did she know I love Body Shop products? Thanks Tim.

Day 9

When I went home this morning, as usual, there's already a line of people wanting to watch Willing Willie in the studio. And this was just 6:30 am. The show starts at 6:30pm. WHY oh WHY?! I don't get it. He's not witty, his humor is contrived.  He encourages the audience to tell their sob stories and make them the national past-time;  half the time I don't understand him. Bulol kasi.  What gives?

Day 8

Saw this outside the cinemas in Greenhills when i went and watched "The Tourist". This service is provided by PLDT. Am just curious what u need a modem for? Faxing is practically dead. They also had a demo about a dial pad...? what the heck is that? hmmm...

Day 7

Saw the advance screening in Glorietta 4 ... my niece has a friend who had passes. I like "Meet the Fockers" better. I've always wondered why Barbra Streisand agreed to do these two movies. Not that I don't like her. (I am a big fan -- i have all her albums on my iTouch) :-) It's just that she's been known to be very particular in the projects that she makes. Just wondering...

I like that she went back to her curls. :-)

Day 6

Bought some supplies at the Shopwise near our place. No lines at the check out counters. I guess people are buying less after the frenzy of the holidays :-)

Day 5

For some reason, beginning last Monday (Jan 3), we have been mastering to tape early -- that is at 3 or 4pm. (the show airs at 9:30pm, or not -- depends when the "other" show ends).

2011 according to Chinese horoscope is the Year of the Rabbit. Hence, our girls are in bunny costumes. The shirt Joey's wearing is his own design -- i got one of those: in blue. He gave it to our EP who in turn gave it to me :-) cool huh?

I hope that this mastering out early will continue all year through :-)

I, and my friends from work discovered this --- good bibingka and coffee. so when we want some really good brewed coffee, we just go to SM Nova and get some from "Bibingkinitan".

I've been a fan of this author since I read his "The 12th Planet". what better way to start the year than read a book about the end of days. hehehe

Day 1 - it's just another new year's day

And just like that, the holidays are over. and because i am single, i don't get what the fuss was all about. hahaha. bitter much?

parang gusto kong gayahin si Gita sa kanyang photo journal project for one year. can i do it? gawd! that is difficult -- but i have to get myself busy... ;-)

so here goes...

my first SB coffee of the year -- and as usual, they didn't get my name right. :-) i didn't want to get another card for the stickers promo, but i got it anyway --- might as well (sayang naman) then i redeemed my 3rd planner which i will give away, of course. :-) talk about being a coffee addict.
