Day 112

My second day on the island. Went walking on this stretch of the beach. Nice.

When I reached the farthest point from here, I discovered a kind of marsh land.

Those are trees growing from this seaweed bed near the beach

Day 111

I spent the first night on Magalawa inside this tent. I had a hard time falling asleep - new surroundings, I guess. I was also excited. My first trip alone. Yahoo!

Day 110

This was my first meal on Magalawa Island. I arrived there at around 9pm. I miss meals like these. Alas, the quality of the food went downhill from here.

Day 109

Francine bought this DVD for the coming long vacation this week. Would you believe this is our very first DVD?! I can't believe how cheap these players are today. When they first came out, they cost more than 10T (close to 20T even).

This brand has component video out, S-video out and sub woofer out. It also has a USB port. At Php1800, it sure is a good buy.

Day 108

At dahil ang buhay ko these days ay sa TV5 lang, san pa ko tatambay kundi sa SM Nova. :-) AT ito ang paborito kong kapehan dun --- sa Bibingkinitan. #makabloglang.

Day 105

Manila City Hall. Because I am my father's daughter, I had to get a residence certificate for the filing of taxes today. :-) Getting one is so easy these days.

Day 104

I am considered self-employed so every 15th of April, I seek the help of our accountant from my last "real" employer to compute my taxes. For the life of me, I can not understand this.

Thanks Cynthia from the bottom of my heart. :-)

Day 103

Major major headache... :-( Is it because I had my hair cut today?

Day 102

Aha! Pampering myself with a facial and mask. Goodah! I think am going to like going to Let's Face It again. The one in SM Nova doesn't have too many clients. :-)

Day 99

No, I didn' like this play. I slept during the first act, snoring, my niece said. Haha. Good thing,  my snoring's not that loud. Five minutes into the first act, they lost me. The 39 Steps was funnier than this; better directed.

Hope their next season has a better line-up. Hope they include one drama. A classic perhaps like "Morning Becomes Electra", or "Suddenly, Last Summer".

Day 98

Since I tried Banapple's Banoffee pie, I have to have it again. This Banapple is at the Il Terrazzo in Tomas Morato. Goodah!

Day 95

These are on the storage box I use as my clothes bin at Kalai's apartment in Novaliches which is where I stay when I have editing in TV5. I have yet to put a rug or a runner over it. :-)

Day 94

Nagyaya ang EP namin na mag-unwind with a few drinks. Kase nga naman, puro pagkain daw ang nilalantakan namin. Tama naman siya. This blog is a testament to food. Hahaha.

So there we were in Cabizerra Bistro in Congressional Ave., ordered 5 bottles of GPS and a bucket of Tanduay Ice. Now, this is life! Bitin nga. Must go back. :-)

Inuman staple - fried tokwa!

Day 93

Before going to work yesterday, I got in my mind to clean this pair of shoes and my knapsack. This is my all around cleaning soap. I just can't remember why I started using this :-) Like Pride (which was my choice of laundry soap before), this rinses off quickly. Perfect for shoes and bags. Sometimes, a satisfactory cleaning of my favorite things can make my day. Adik lang noh. :-)

Day 92

Nothing much to blog today except that I went to see the last screening of "Limitless". Cool movie.

Day 91

From this....

add coffee...

and voila! secret writings :-) hehehe

"Quests beyond existence."
"Existence that are not perceived by the senses do not mean that they do not exist."
"The essential is not always visible to the curious and ill-intent."
www.questsbeyond.com

This mug is Francine's. She got this as a Christmas present, I believe. Cool huh?

Day 90

This Gourdo's is in Glorietta 4. Though I didn't buy anything here today, I love going inside and look at the good things. (long sigh) :-) Next to a bookstore, this is heaven to me.

Day 89

Mango Yogurt Cheesecake

What? Another food shot? :-)

I met my friend Aggie at my old haunt in Katipunan... ano pa, e di Starbucks. When I arrived (late), she has already eaten -  a sandwich, I believe. So I ordered latte for me and orange juice for her plus a thing called decadent cheesecake and this yogurt cheesecake. At P110/slice, okay na din. I used my cell camera, hence this non-beauty-shot.

Day 88

There was this application on FB --- things you wouldn't leave the house without. E since, my day was just spent at work, I'll just post a pic of the things I wouldn't leave the house without.

The one on the left - spoon, fork and knife - is a recent addition. The others and their like have been with me for years. (the cellphone, of course, changes models)

My favorite of course is my PDA/MP3 player/game console. Thanks Apple!

Day 87

Bacon Shrimp Roll
Ryan, our segment editor said we should try the Kowloon House along Commonwealth Avenue in Fairview because according to him the branch there has a different menu than the one we frequent to in Visayas Avenue. Me said, yeah right but we went anyway, to amuse him. Hahaha. Turned out, he was right.

Buchi

Apple Flavored San Miguel Beer (3% alcohol)

The roll is good but their buchi is a major failure. They didn't have coffee (I was in the coffee stage already, having sneaked a bite from Juicy's dinner of Burger Steak from Fatboy's), so I just ordered this beer. I thought it will taste like Cali Shandy, but no. I liked Tanduay Ice better than this one. So I just had one. Still, I can't complain. Ryan footed the bill e. :-)

Day 86

I remember, Chicken Savory had just one branch. It was in Binondo. And I remember that we had to go over a bridge to get there. They're in malls now - this one is in SM Nova. (where else?) :-) I like this chicken because it's not fried.

Day 85

We had dinner last night in Pho 24 at the Ayala Triangle Gardens to celebrate my  nephew's birthday. It so happened that it was also Earth Hour and we were having dessert at the Banapple when they turned off most of the lights. There was some kind of program at the dome of the Phil. Stock Exchange. Some dancing with torches... (anyare?! and I thought we were supposed to turn off all the lights.)

This is a citronella candle. I like the scent it gives off... mosquitoes don't, apparently. We ordered 6 slices of  5 different cakes. The winner for me is the Banoffe Cream Pie. I surely would come back for more of this Banoffe. Their prices are reasonable, too.

I would have posted some cake shots but bluetooth-ing the pics from the cellphone camera of my sister was half-successful... maybe next time. (Why didn't I take pics? Was busy tasting all the cakes. hehehe)

Day 84

This was lunch - San Marino's Tuna Paella. A quick fix. Not as good as Century's rice meals that they put out in the 90's. I wonder why they discontinued it? Maybe it didn't click with the consumers back then.

But San Marino's Tuna Fillet is good though. :-)

I was talking to my niece who is in Virginia and this was her brunch - bologna sandwich. Yummy!

Day 82

Seems like construction in TV5 is forever and a day.  I don't have any idea what these cables are for but I like those wooden things where they are kept. Can be used as a table...?
